One of my favorite John Varley books!
Way back, in the day, when I first discovered the Gaea trilogy (Titan, Wizard, Demon), I saw that Varley wrote this The Ophiuchi Hotline and I went looking for it. This was pre Internet. If you wanted to find a rare or out of print book, you went to dusty bookstores (where NOTHING is alphabetized) and spent hours looking. To this day, I still think of that as a fun way to kill a couple of hours. My wife thinks I'm crazy and it took me YEARS to find this one. It was worth the wait. Truely, one of Varley's best and at his worst, he's still one of the best writers every. Truely a great story.
