Fantastic Story & Narration🎧Engaging, Fun & Heartfelt!

Lauren Blakely pens another winning novel set in her “Love and Hockey” series, putting her own unique spin on the runaway bride and single dad/nanny romance trope. I loved everything about it, from her wonderful writing style to the fabulous characters and storylines she created to the perfectly cast narration. A captivating sports romance that warms your heart and puts a smile on your face. Today was supposed to be Sabrina’s wedding day, except that isn’t going to because she just found out her fiancé has been cheating on her with his colleague, and kudos to her for her clever way of outing him. Though her critical father didn’t appreciate that, unsurprisingly, given his general lack of appreciation for her and anything she did. Picked up by the best getaway driver, I mean Uber driver, she goes to her comfort place, the ice rink, but it was closed so she goes to a nearby bar and that is where she sees him, the father of one of her students and a super hot hockey player, Tyler Falcon, a single dad of two. She and Tyler hit it off and since she had nowhere to go, he brought her up to his room, but he did not take advantage of her vulnerable state. He left before she woke, but he did some sweet things to make her morning more bearable. Sabrina had to put the rest of her life in motion, starting with a place to live, and thank goodness for good friends since her family wrote her off. Teaching skating lessons was not enough, and she needed to find another job, so when offered a live-in nanny position, a nanny to Tyler’s two kids and a job she can’t refuse. She was amazing with the kids and I enjoyed watch her and Tyler dance around each other, while trying to deny the chemistry that was between them. I loved all the layers of this story and how it all played out, with the perfect balance of drama, witty and brilliant dialogue, charming humor, heartwarming moments, heartfelt emotions and a slow burn but so worth the wait romance. Lauren Blakely, thanks for another fantastic story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 Brooke Bloomingdale and Teddy Hamilton were a perfect pairing and a perfect cast to bring these characters to life, and they did so with a complete understanding of who they were portraying. I loved how they took their roles and made them their own while sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters to sound. Bloomingdale was a natural in Sabrina’s role, grasping every aspect of her personality, keeping her cool and a quick thinker, basically fierce and brave, hiding her vulnerabilities well. Hamilton did the same in Tyler’s role and was just as fabulous with showcasing his personality, a swoon worthy and caring single dad. Both were fantastic performing the roles of the side and secondary characters and voicing the children’s roles. Their tone and pacing was just right for the story and they projected all the characters’ emotions into their performance, having you feel them all. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their performance keeps you glued to the story.
