“A masterpiece of thriller and mystery. This narrator… SO AWFUL!!
I’m afraid I’m going to have to stop listening to these books! I love the characters and the stories - and I’m halfway through the series of 36 books - but I simply CANNOT TAKE this narrator - Debbie Soelter - any longer. There is no flow in her narration - she’s so stilted and halting and puts emphasis on the wrong words constantly. Not to mention the constant MISPRONUNCIATION of words!? Listening to her is so distracting that it completely detracts from the story. The different character voices she attempts are ridiculous - but this book may have ended it all for me. The au pair is supposed to be Scottish but the “accent” she uses sounds like the character is from India or something… I can’t take anymore… She’s just terrible. It’s like, in 6th grade reading class when everyone had to read a paragraph aloud. You would just cringe when it was the one kid’s turn because he/she couldn’t read aloud to save their life and you thought they’d never make it to the end of their paragraph. YIKES.
