This is Podracing
It felt like I was watching the movie the whole time, with a few alterations in perspective or momentary changes in the way certain events played out. I really enjoyed myself and the time I spent listening!
Great audiobook!
I enjoyed listening to this but this was the first SW audiobook I’ve had that didn’t have the background noises that the others had to draw you in
Listened to multiple times
I first listened to this audiobook when I was twenty or so during the drive on a family vacation. The movie was only a few years old at that time, and I was happy to listen to it. Fast forward a "few" years, and I'm blessed with my own family. While preparing for a long road trip, I selected this audiobook for the family to listen to. It is a favorite of my son, and he insists on listening to it every time we go on vacation.
Sorry for the long preamble... If you are considering purchasing this audiobook, I would presume that you enjoy The Phantom Menace. Despite all the hate this movie received since its release, I have always enjoyed the story and presentation. The book sticks to the events of the movie with almost no deviation. There is additional dialogue, details, and scenes, but it supplements the events of the film while remaining respectful of the source material.
The narrator is listed as Alexander Adams, which is a pseudonym for Grover Gardner (one of the best narrators ever). Adams/Gardner makes for an enjoyable and engaging experience, and his impression of 3PO is mind blowing. I have finished the audiobook today, and I'm still captivated by the experience. I only wish Gardner narrated books 2 &3.
