The Playboy

Mr Playboy by Marni Mann is a billionaire, he falls first, instalove story. This book is the first in a new Spade Hotel series, and spin-off of The Dalton Family, whose characters appear frequently within this book. I listened to this book in audiobook form and found the narrators perfect for the dual POV book. This story is about Macon Spade, who made the decision to remain a playboy at the age of twenty when his heart was broken by his high school sweetheart. He remained true to this decision until he was twenty-seven years old and saw Brooklyn dancing on a stage at a nightclub. He managed to talk her into an hour of intimacy,but she refused to give her name or phone number. Macon returned to the nightclub every night looking for her and finally found her again and again. She was determined not to get involved with him, but his dogged determination eventually wore her down. I really enjoyed this story. I’m a sucker for a playboy turned dedicated partner, and that is what Macon embodies in this book. Brooklyn is a strong, independent young woman on the cusp of starting her adult life, and Macon is incredibly supportive of her aspirations. Macon frequently sought out assistance from family and friends while navigating this relationship, giving the reader snippets of already familiar characters from the previous series. As with The Dalton series, it is pretty spicy. I would definitely recommend this book for readers who enjoy spicy, contemporary romance novels. I am voluntarily writing this review after listening to an advanced complementary copy of this audiobook.

𝙼𝚊𝚛𝚗𝚒 𝙼𝚊𝚗𝚗 is an amazing author! She knows how to write those yummy male characters that make the reader drool and swoon! 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒚𝒃𝒐𝒚 definitely did that for me!

I absolutely loved the way Macon Spade fell hard and fast for Brooklyn! The way he charmed her, really made me wish I was Brooklyn! Their interactions became addictive for me.

Brooklyn was a great character too! She definitely doesn't fall right away for Macon, and made him work a bit for her affections! But, the way he reforms his ways just for her is amazing and I was there for it!

𝚂𝚊𝚟𝚊𝚗𝚗𝚊𝚑 𝙿𝚎𝚊𝚌𝚑𝚠𝚘𝚘𝚍 & 𝚃𝚘𝚛 𝚃𝚑𝚘𝚖 did a great job together! They really gave these characters the passion and drive and brought them to life in the best way! Their voices flowed smoothly together and kept me hooked throughout!

If you love a beautifully chiseled story about a reformed playboy who falls hard and fast for the woman who brings him to his knees, but makes him work for his affections, then you need to grab this one up! It's the first in a series that is sure to be forever on my shelves! Great job, 𝙼𝚊𝚛𝚗𝚒 𝙼𝚊𝚗𝚗! Looking forward to taking another trip to the Spade Hotel!

The Playboy is the first book in the new Spade Hotel series. I absolutely loved Macon and Brooklyn's story. It's entertaining, with off the charts chemistry. It has plenty of spice and all the feels. What a great start to the series. I devoured this one.

Savannah Peachwood and Tor Thom did a great job portraying these characters.
