The Practice of the Presence of God

The Practice of the Presence of God is a book of the accumulated teachings of Brother Lawrence (born Nicholas Herman), a 17th-century Carmelite monk. It was compiled by Father Joseph de Beaufort. The collection includes letters, as well as documents of his discussions kept by Brother Lawrence's interlocutors. The promotion of an awareness of the presence of God is a red line throughout the book.
