Publisher Description

Meditation is the key to finding the Self, and Easwaran recommends this prayer, which begins "Lord make me an instrument of thy peace . . . ," as the first passage to use when learning to meditate. In this talk Easwaran explores the four pillars of wisdom and then gives a line-by-line commentary on the prayer.

Good discourse, but needs editing

Easwaran was apparently, a bit past his prime when he delivered this address, as is seen at about the 30 minute mark, when he repeats, not quite verbatim, what he had said just before, for 5 or 10 minutes. The content of the address does not suffer, but it is distracting, and ought to have been edited out by those with a concern for the quality of the message. It is also unfortunate that he seems unaware that the Prayer of St. Francis was not written by Francis, but since little depends on that assumption, it is of little consequence.
