Publisher Description

Performed with duet narration by Teddy Hamilton and Vanessa Edwin!

The first rule of handling PR for a hockey team? Never hook up with a player.

That shouldn’t be a problem since the last man on earth I want to give an image makeover to is our goalie. He’s infuriatingly hot, famously grumpy and lives to spar with me after every game. But shining up his rough edges is my path to landing the promotion I desperately need, so I grit my teeth and do my job. No matter how hard he makes it (especially with that sexy smirk and cool blue eyes.) As we travel from pose-with-a-pet photo opps to cuddle-a-kitten fundraisers, we bicker like it’s foreplay. Turns out it is. Because as I get to know the man behind the broody iceman exterior, it’s me that melts–right into his arms as he devastates me with a kiss that turns into the hottest, most forbidden night of my life.

Only once turns into every night as Max shows me how much he wants to take care of me. His possessive touch makes me feel adored for the first time in my life.

But the man is entirely off limits and I can’t risk my job for more of those soul-deep kisses.

Because the only thing worse than hooking up with a player is falling head over heels for him.

Outstanding Story, Characters & Narration🎧 Loved It!

Wow, this audiobook became my addiction, once I started it I could not stop, the story and narration is enthralling and superb, so much so that nothing else around me mattered except what was going to happen next in the book and with the characters, Everly Rosewood and Max Lambert, who are absolutely amazing. Everly is the hockey team’s publicist and handles PR for all players and she knows to never cross the line with any of them. Max, a goalie, is one of the team’s best players, and is also the grumpiest, stays away from social media, which is costing him sponsorships. When presented with a challenging assignment, Everly jumps on it because she wants the promotion they are dangling in front of her. Her assignment is to build Max’s social media presence and to paint him in a better light and changing his image will not be a simple task, but she is up for the challenge. Max is only going along and not just for himself, but for his family too, because he never forgot where he came from and what his family did for him. I adored these two characters, each battle with their own inner demons and insecurities, ones that caused them to build a fortress around their hearts. It was great to learn more about these two and watch them get to know each other and see their relationship morph into something more. I loved all the layers of this story, and the writing, plot and world building are brilliant, as are the character growth and development too. This story has the perfect balance of drama, a touch of angst, some witty back-and-forth banter and dialogue, heartfelt emotions and a steamy romance. I know I say this often, but this is definitely one of Lauren Blakely’s best novels, a sports romance that will stay with you for a very long time. Thank you for another outstanding story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 Teddy Hamilton and Vanessa Edwin deliver an amazing performance and they fell into their roles naturally, as if the characters were made just for them. Hamilton nails it as Max, showcasing all aspects of his personality, from his grumpy side to his caring side and all in between and Edwin does the same as Everly, from her insecurities to the strength and determination. Both handled their character’s dialogue with ease and were fabulous in performing the roles of the secondary characters too. You could hear how much heart they put into their performance as they capture all the characters’ emotions and have you feeling each one. These two made a great team, their voices and performances complemented each other and together they elevated this already amazing story to another level. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to.
