After being conned into attending an overpriced law school that barely prepares students to pass the bar, Zola, Mark, and Todd watch their careers prospects vanish even before they graduate. Desperate, frustrated, and buried in debt, the three put together a risky venture to beat their sham school at its own fake law game. Legal-thriller master John Grisham is clearly having fun as he puts his three likable protagonists through the wringer and plays up the wit and suspense. We especially enjoyed the secondary cast of shady wheeler-dealers and two-bit hacks that populate the seedy side of Grisham’s judicial world. Audie Award–winning narrator Ari Fliakos nails the story’s blend of seriousness and comedy, with voices that make each character pop. The Rooster Bar is an edge-of-your-seat thriller that explores questions of ethics and criminality.

Good and engaging enough
Not quite top tier, but still a good enough story. Some predictability to the story, but not to an excessive degree.
Great Read
This book had me hooked from the beginning…so many moments I thought could they get in any deeper. loved this book.
Applaud Grisham for delving into “degree factories “ coupled with the student loan crisis.
A great fictional expose’ Government supporting a broken advanced degree system run by liberal lawyers. Throw in penal student loan practices and trapping the vulnerable with a life of debt.
