Publisher Description
Raymond Charles Barker was a leader and author in the New Thought spiritual movement. He was the founder and first minister of the Church of Religious Science in Manhattan. Some of his students included future Religious Science leaders Stuart Grayson and Louise Hay. He was a president of the International New Thought Alliance. Here is what he says about The Science of Successful Living: "Few people think of life as a creative experiment. Most of us are so busy with routines that we take life for granted. We expect an endless routine of work, a hectic social life each weekend and two weeks' vacation each year. I trust that the readers of this book will derive from it a new interest in life, a zest for doing what needs to be done and a technique to live with joyous enthusiasm. This book has been written for that large section of today's population which is spiritually liberal and psychologically aware. Those bound by traditional beliefs will cast it aside. It is my desire that thousands will be helped and healed by reading these pages."
Customer Reviews
Am I listening to a robot?
This is uncanny. The narrator sounds like a computerized voice. And yet I am sure it must be a human being. Why would anyone sound so much like a computerized text-to-speech voice? Is this normal? I am baffled and perpexed...and this bewilderment subtracts hugely from the impact of the actual words being spoken. I am so distracted trying to figure out why an obviously human narrator sounds like a machine that I just cannot allow the philosophy to sink in. I'm thinking about deleting this audiobook...Sigh...what a waste!
