Not my favorite
This hasn’t been my favorite book in the series. It is honestly more about Butch and his continued journey as the destroyer than it is about Syn and Jo. I like Butch, he isn’t my favorite, but I do like him. Ward has given him one of the more interesting story ARCs, and I do like how we continue to see the “older” brothers in the newer stories.
Syn is a psycho. No other word for it. He is a serial killer, and it was honestly never explained why, other than he had a horrible childhood. I don’t understand why his behavior is overlooked and tolerated. Because he is a good soldier in the fight with the Lessers?
Jo is a half-breed who has been looking for answers for a long time, and V has constantly been scrubbing her memory. I liked Jo, and I liked her tenacity. Her with Syn didn’t make a lot of sense to me, but ok.
Overall, The Sinner was ok, not my favorite, but I didn’t hate it either. I am giving it 3 Boundless Stars.
