Publisher Description

From USA Today and #1 Amazon Bestselling author Pippa Grant comes a hilarious romcom about an unforgettable revenge date between a famous British single dad and a small-town girl who had to grow up too fast…

I might be the only person not obsessed with Simon Luckwood, Hollywood's hottest leading man and the newest part-time resident of my little hometown.

I don’t trust the way he’s always smiling. No one smiles that much.

And I’m clearly missing something, because I don’t get why the character Simon played on his weird hit TV show is so popular.

But revenge is a dish best served cold, just like the dishes on the menu at the restaurant my ex stole from me. So, when Simon feels guilty enough about his twin teenage boys accidentally getting me arrested that he wants to take me out on an apology date?

I see a perfect opportunity to get mine.

One night, one date, one very loud public scene at my ex’s grand opening, and then I can wash my hands of men forever.

That’s exactly how it has to go. Because my life can’t handle one more plot twist…

The Spite Date is a hilariously fun single dad romance featuring a golden retriever celebrity who needs to get out of his own way, a woman trying to live her best life even if she’s not sure exactly how to do that, and a series of plans gone very, very wrong. It stands alone and comes with a sweetly satisfying happily ever after.

Tropes include single dad, small town, revenge date, summer fling, found family, she raised her siblings, and opposites attract.

Fabulous Story & Narration🎧Charming & Heartfelt!

Pippa Grant pens another fabulous romantic comedy, a small town single dad enemies-to-lovers romance that captivates your attention, tugs at your heartstrings and has you smiling the entire time — escapism at its best. I adored the characters, the two leads, Beatrice “Bea” Best and Simon Luckwood, as well as their families. Simon, a British actor, is in town for the summer to spend time with his two sons, who could be quite mischievous. Bea owns and operates a food truck in town, and it was his son’s pranks that landed her in jail. Luckily, she got herself free in time to take care of business, sell her food and confront Simon, who wants to make it up to her, but she doesn’t make it easy for him. Simon is loving it in the small town, finds it and Bea inspiring, so much so he takes notes for a future project. Bea comes up with a good way to get back at her lousy ex, who stole her idea for a restaurant, by taking his favorite actor, Simon, to his restaurant’s grand opening. A spite date, and Simon caught on quickly and went along with it, a hysterical night out with Bea, mishaps, too much champagne and cheese, made for an interesting date. There is never a dull moment in this book, and I loved all the witty dialogue and banter between Bea and Simon. It was great getting to know these characters, and watching Bea and Simon’s relationship morph into something so much more. This multilayered, well-plotted and written story has all the elements of a fantastic RomCom, a perfect balance of drama, humor, charm, heartwarming moments, heartfelt emotions, and slow-burn romance. Pippa Grant, thank you for another wonderful story, the laughs, and the emotional roller coaster ride

🎧📚🎧 Will Watt and Callie Dalton were the ideal cast to bring these characters to life, giving each a voice that was fitting and believable in every role. Watt nailed it as Simon, embodying his personality completely, including his easy-going demeanor. Dalton was just as fabulous in Bea’s role, and did the same with showcasing her personality, handling her witty dialogue and banter effortlessly and was a natural in her role. Both were fantastic at performing the roles of the secondary/side characters, too. They set the right tone for the story, conveyed all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. With voices and talent that complemented each other, these two were an amazing team, and their duet performance is engrossing and entertaining.
