Publisher Description
Surrogacy isn't just for women - husbands play a vital role. Discover everything you need to know to make this the journey of a lifetime.
Approximately 750 surrogate babies are born each year in the US alone. Surrogacy is becoming an increasingly attractive option to women who want to help others and make a little money to support their own families at the same time.
Don’t be alarmed if you feel shock and confusion the first time your wife mentions the "S" word, though. You’re certainly not alone, and how ever you feel is absolutely right.
While your wife may be the driving force behind the surrogacy decision, there’s no question that it’s a whole family affair - and your role as her husband is vital.
It’s not uncommon for husbands and partners to get left out of the surrogacy discussion, though, and this can leave you feeling lost at a time when you’re needed to be a solid and stable rock for your wife.
Dan Kammeyer knows first-hand what this road looks like, and through sharing his personal experience, he provides the information that husbands of surrogate mothers so desperately need. In The Husband's Guide to Surviving a Surrogate Pregnancy, you’ll be expertly led through every stage of the surrogacy process - from a husband’s point of view.
You’ll discover:
The essential considerations you need to discuss before beginning the surrogacy journey
A clear understanding of your critical role in the surrogacy process
First-hand experiences and anecdotes to show the good, the bad, and the ugly: Know exactly what you’re getting into from day one.
A guide to navigating hormones like a pro
Everything you need to know about surrogacy and your sex life
Why communication is key from beginning to end (and how to ace it every time)
The secret to not freaking out
And much more...
If your wife wants to be a surrogate, you might feel like it’s her journey. But the key to making this a great choice for your family is to make sure it’s your journey, too.

Not for Intended Fathers
Although my husband and I did enjoy listening to this short audiobook, we thought there might be a section about an intended father's perspective, but there wasn't. It gave us a better understanding of what a surrogates husband's perspective was though. It also would have been nice to hear some stats and history about surrogacy in general. I know there are some bible stories about surrogacy. But really, how long have women been having children for other women? What did their husbands think of that? How many surrogacy births are there every year?
