APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
This charming and slyly suspenseful mystery proves it’s never too late for adventure. At a luxury retirement village in the English countryside, four friends meet every Thursday to pore over cold cases. There’s sharp-witted Elizabeth, still full of secrets from her past; gentle Joyce, who records events in her diary with candor; Ron, a gruff former union leader; and Ibrahim, a meticulous retired psychiatrist. Their hobby becomes urgent when a local developer turns up dead, giving them a case to solve in real time. Delightfully, the group’s mix of life experience, resourcefulness, and stubborn charm allows them to uncover clues the local detectives overlook. Author Richard Osman balances lighthearted humor with genuine tension, keeping the mystery engaging without losing warmth. His beautifully drawn cast feels instantly endearing, while the twists remain sharp. Lesley Manville’s lively narration highlights each character’s quirks, delivering both the comedy and suspense with grace. The Thursday Murder Club is a cozy mystery to savor.

Never thought I’d call a book ADHD friendly
Another one absolutely nailed. Brilliant piece of writing. Pace, tone, dialogue… it almost feels like reading a clever script for TV. Think Only Murders meets Anxious People.
