My Thoughts on The Trouble with Whiskey
This book was a next level listen for me. It was emotional but not too much for me. It was beautiful and layered and rich and just a joy to listen to both for the story being told as well as the voices telling it. I loved Billie and Dare’s journey to happiness and what a winding sometimes chaotic journey it was. Dare was definitely the kind of guy I read romance novels for. And Billie was one of my favorite kind of leading ladies. Dare was intelligent and yet can make bone headed decisions when his emotions get the better of him and is loyal to a fault, constantly encouraging the woman he loves to do and be her best and supporting her even when she may not realize or think she needs it. And Billie was equally intelligent and driven and was accepted even when she didn’t wear her heart on her sleeve and she loved fiercely in her own way. Once again, I think the characters were my favorite part of this story as they often are with a Melissa Foster novel but the journey the characters take to get to their HEA is oh so satisfying as well. This story was only made better by the narrators who really brought things to life and tugged at my heart strings during those emotional moments with the passion they brought out in their voices.

One tragic accident changed everything. Dare and Billie are meant to be together but guilt, past demons and a little bit of stubbornness prevents Billie from finding true happiness. Dare is determined to breakdown her walls and show her exactly how they can have their HEA.
A fun, wonderful emotional story of second chances. Great narration by Savannah Peachwood and Jacob Morgan. Once again, Melissa does not disappoint.
