Nostalgia
Little secret...This book taught me how to put someone’s shoulder back in its socket, which I have actually used in real life emergencies. The writer uses a decent level of descriptive writing and detail... when a character dislocated her arm, she obviously did enough research to describe the process of relocating the appendage to the point that I could apply it practically. (Don’t try this at home lol) Might be a little biased due to the fact that I read this book with my grandmother as a child, but all and all, Suzanne Collins is a wonderful writer. She pays attention to detail, and writes compelling material that always keeps the reader/listener wondering what will happen next. I love her ability to end each book on a cliffhanger. Wish the book was a little more adult and that there was more of a romance between Gregor and Luxa, but after all this is a children’s book, and just the fact that I made it through the whole series in a month at 21 years old amazes me. Love this series. Good read.
