Not Hillerman’s
Touted as successor of Hillerman’s Navajo police mystery series, I was initially captivated by the narrative-it was well written. However, by the climactic scene, it had devolved from a mystery to a metaphysical mess that was not worth the trouble of disentangling. Here is a good writer; it is too bad that the rabbit hole didn’t have a reasonable exit.
