The Wicked Aftermath is an emotionally gripping story of love, loss, and hope, with a rich and entrancing happily ever after. All Wicked novels may be enjoyed as standalone romances.
When the person you blame for your grief is the only one who can save you from the pain....
Tank Wicked lost his sister and has since vowed to save everyone else in his path. He lives by the creed of the Dark Knights motorcycle club, sworn to protect and respect his community. He selflessly saves lives as a volunteer firefighter and treats the men and women who work for him at his tattoo shop like family. But life isn’t a balance scale where good deeds negate bad things to come, and one foggy night life guts Tank once again. When a car careens over the side of a bridge and into a river, Tank springs into action, plunging into the water to rescue the passengers. Four people go into the river, but only three come out alive.
Leah Yates is just trying to make it through each day. When the man she blames for her grief becomes the only one who can pull her from the depths of despair, she discovers that even hope comes at a price. Maybe this time she won't have to face it alone.
Set on the sandy shores of Cape Cod, the Wickeds feature fiercely protective heroes, strong heroines, and unbreakable family bonds. If you think bikers are all the same, you haven't met the Dark Knights. The Dark Knights are a motorcycle club, not a gang. Their members stick together like family and will stop at nothing to keep their communities safe. Some of the Wickeds’ love stories will be hilariously fun and deeply emotional, others will tear at your heartstrings and include injections of humor, but they will all leave you wishing you could climb in the audio and join them.
The Wicked Aftermath by Melissa Foster has the biggest range of emotions I have ever experienced in a romance book. Tank and Leah’s story absolutely touched my soul. Both Leah and Tank have experienced the absolute worst of emotional and quite frankly, life altering events. I was absolutely gutted by these events and then watched how the author put Tank and Leah back together along with myself as well. The entire cast of The Wicked Aftermath were so well developed and heartfelt, they are amazing. Leah’s two little girls absolutely stole Tank’s heart and mine too! The emotion and passion just flew off the pages with this story. Melissa Foster is a master at emotional, funny, sexy, and quite steamy stories. Her characters are smart, funny, handsome, beautiful (inside and out), and very sexy. Melissa’s heroes are sexy, handsome alpha’s with the masterful ability to talk dirty in the most sexy way. Completely recommend The Wicked Aftermath by Melissa Foster.*****
Tough, hard, real love
Audiobook Review: I have fallen in love with the dual narrator format that Melissa Foster uses in most of her audiobooks. I love hearing the female narrator primarily tell the female characters perspective and the male narrator tell the male characters. The narrators for Melissa’s books are also good at portraying the opposite sex. Many times, the stories overlap, and the narrator easily becomes whichever character they need to be. This is a big talent, and I am so thankful that both Aiden Snow and Jennifer Mack can switch back and forth without missing a beat. The cadence of the voices and the emotion they share in their voices pulled me right into Wicked Aftermath bringing the characters to life.
This book will rip your heart out in chapter two and the slowly put it back together with a 2 step forward 1 step back setup. There is death, friendship, family, and love along with a couple triggers that some people may not like to read about. I never thought about stopping reading since I knew that Melissa Foster would not leave me hurting, she would put it all together and make it be okay.
The Wicked Aftermath is part of the Wicked: Dark Knights series and I knew that Tank had a history that would tear most men apart. Luckily, Tank is not just any man. He is a man with strength, a heart, and honor. When Leah is trying to keep her life together, he steps in, going above and beyond to help her find her way. Tank can be scary and intimidating but his teddy bear side shined through with Leah and her girls.
I am so thrilled with this entire book. I loved that it was not all romance and mushy. It was tough, it was hard, but it was true love, soul mates, together forever. The Wicked Family never breaks a promise and Tank is pure proof of this statement.
Learning to heal
This book has so much emotion in it. There is tragedy and healing and lots and lots of love. Sweet humor from two little girls and the Wicked family once again wrapping someone in their arms and getting them to the other side.
Benson Wicked aka Tank has had his eyes on Leah for months but when she needed him most he had no idea what he would gain by being there for her.
Leah is no stranger to tragedy and hard work with no other family to help out so when the Wicked family and friends come to her rescue she doesn't know to accept their help and love to start with but with time she lets them all in and gains not only a love but a family.
Jennifer Mack and Lance Greenfield are perfect for Leah and Tank. Loved listening to them bring this story to life. This is a great book and I highly recommend it.
