Mia Sosa’s smart, funny romance is a roller coaster of swoony emotions and laugh-out-loud moments, peppered with smart observations about how women of color are treated in the workplace. On what was supposed to be the happiest day of Lina’s life, her future husband left her at the altar. Years later, she’s working as a top wedding planner when she receives a career-making invitation to partner with a luxe hotel. The catch? The gig would entail teaming up with her ex-fiancé’s brother, Max, the guy who convinced Lina’s ex to ghost. Dueling male and female narrators alternate chapters, laying out this opposites-attract tale with a punchy he-said-she-said dynamic. We waited in giddy anticipation for these two characters to get together. Suffice it to say that The Worst Best Man nearly melted our earbuds.

Adorable
I loved the book and definitely had its spicy moments. My only complaint is the male narrator had a very annoying female voice and it took a few chapters to get over it. I almost stopped listening to it because of that but continue listening because I was already caught up in the book.

MMC is insufferable and the mail voice actor makes it worse.
Review
Even though a lot of the banter was super cringey, I did really enjoy this love story. I love that the author brought in aspects of her culture into it as well. The characters seemed very real to me.
