Publisher Description
Horatio Alger was a 19th-century American author who wrote over 100 novels. Many of his works have been called "rags to riches" stories, describing how down-and-out boys achieve the American Dream of wealth and success through hard work, courage, determination, and concern for others. Because of this Alger is a a significant figure in the history of American cultural and social ideals. Put away your cynicism, dust off your sense of adventure and follow Tom on his perilous journey across the country as he seeks to make his fortune and save the family farm.

Nostalgia book
This book was written in a simpler time when no one laughed at the virtues of honesty, bravery and hard work.
Listening to it was like a breath of fresh air and an escape from these more cynical days. So far this seems to be the only Horatio Alger book out there in audio. I just hope there are more coming.
