Publisher Description

The thrilling young mystery series from internationally bestselling author John Grisham!

In the small city of Strattenburg, there are many lawyers, and though he’s only thirteen years old, Theo Boone thinks he’s one of them. Theo knows every judge, policeman, court clerk—and a lot about the law. He dreams of being a great trial lawyer, of a life in the courtroom.

But Theo finds himself in court much sooner than expected. Because he knows so much—maybe too much—he is suddenly dragged into the middle of a sensational murder trial. A cold-blooded killer is about to go free, and only Theo knows the truth.

The stakes are high, but Theo won’t stop until justice is served.

Theodore Boone: Kid Lawyer

Excellent book. I really enjoyed it. I hope there is a series starting here. I wasn't sure how Mr. Grisham would be at young adult stories, but he pulled it off nicely. Richard Thomas was a real treat as the narrator. He "did the voices" and truly brought the story to life. I hope there are more books narrated by him, because he is in my top 5 list of fave narrators now. This is an excellent choice for a family road trip. Yes, I am a grown-up and was glad to find an audiobook that all genders and ages could enjoy.

Great for Pre-Teens to Learn About Our Legal System

My two 9 year olds and I listened to the audiobook version and completely enjoyed it. It was a wonderful way for them to learn about our legal system and gave clear explanation of legal terms woven into the story. Even I learned some things. The main character, Theodore Boone, is a believable character and a humble kid who shows the emotional benefits of generously helping people. He's a great example for kids of what a true hero should be. The story is perfect for kids 4th grade and up but holds up for adults to be engaged in as well.

Good book for children in 3rd -5th grade

I usually like young adult mystery books. This is definitely a children's book not a YA book.
