This Is How I Lied

It is difficult to offer credence to an author who either cannot hide his/her bias, or has neglected to do their homework. In this case, very early on, the author clearly either hates ranchers or has neglected to do any research into what it might be like to have a veterinarian attend to a colicky horse. The veterinarian “plunged the needle into the horse’s jugular” and, “some people shouldn’t be allowed to own animals” based on the incidence of colic, are harsh and ignorant statements. And using exam gloves to do a rectal on a horse is laughable. Would anyone stick their entire arm into a horse’s rear end with only a glove? If this scene cannot be trusted, then how can any other scene be trusted? Otherwise, the writing was fine and it was engaging. I would have enjoyed it if the ranch scene had been better presented.

As always, Mrs. Heather Gudenkauf leads you down a thrilling twisting river of mystery and when you finally get to the end of that river it’s an open ocean engulfing you inside all the twists and turns she made along the way! Fair warning friends, you will be mind blown at the end of her works. She always leaves you wanting more! Mrs. Gudenkauf is my favorite author and I dare you to get lost exploring Ransom Caves with her in this phenomenal book! PS. Don’t forget your flashlight because “there is power in light.”
