Buzz Bissinger's book on the mind of one of baseball's geniuses, Tony LaRussa is fast on its way to becoming a paradigm of baseball books. I was riveted to the insight that Bissinger brought into LaRussa and LaRussa's approach to baseball. It was not a "rah rah" book about glorifiying LaRussa but was meant to be an enjoyable, informative book about a man who has brought many inovations into managing a big league baseball team. It hits the bulls-eye. It also shows the stress, strains and anguish that match the joys, excitement and triumphs that a big league manager can go through from night to night. What really makes this book pop is the excellent narration that makes you feel that you are there with LaRussa and Bissinger. Buy this book and enjoy.
