Publisher Description

Sequestered in the blackness of the dreaded Tower of High Sorcery in Palanthas, surrounded by nameless creatures of evil, Raistlin Majere weaves a plan to conquer the darkness - to bring it under his control.

Crysania, a beautiful and devoted cleric of Paladine, tries to use her faith to lead Raistlin from the darkness. She is blind to his shadowed designs, and he draws her slowly into his neatly woven trap.

Made aware of Raistlin’s plan, a distraught Caramon travels back in time to the doomed city of Istar in the days before the Cataclysm. There, together with the ever-present kender Tasslehoff, Caramon will make his stand to save Raistlin’s soul.

Or so he believes.

-_-

The narrator doesn't pronounce the names correctly and it's almost unbearable to listen to. Love the series but absolutely hate the way this guy reads it!

Great story, but...

I was excited to see this series on iTunes, as its my favorite series of all time. Unfortunately, this particular narrator makes the story almost unlistenable. His constant mispronouncing of names is bad enough but when he portrays a character yelling, it's absolutely laughable. I know I'm being really nit picky but when I pay over $20 for an audiobook, I don't feel I should have an uncomfortable listening experience. That being said, it's still a great story. I'll just accept the inconsistencies. It's still dragonlance, after all!

Appreciate the effort

I'm happy that the Dragonlance series is on audio now but this narrator is butchering character names and it drives me crazy. Also, Raistlin seems far to cheery when he reads his lines. The Mage is supposed to talk in a whisper, not an upbeat nonchalant tone. He also doesn't seem to get Tas's childlike nature as well as his fast talking ways. Could have been done better. The narrator for the Chronicles trilogy did a much better job of nailing the personalities.
