Publisher Description

In the next installment of the New York Times best-selling Throne of Glass series, follow Chaol on his sweeping journey to a distant empire.

Chaol Westfall has always defined himself by his unwavering loyalty, his strength, and his position as the captain of the Guard. But all of that has changed since the glass castle shattered, since his men were slaughtered, since the king of Adarlan spared him from a killing blow, but left his body broken.

His only shot at recovery lies with the legendary healers of the Torre Cesme in Antica - the stronghold of the southern continent's mighty empire. And with war looming over Dorian and Aelin back home, their survival might lie with Chaol and Nesryn convincing its rulers to ally with them.

But what they discover in Antica will change them both - and be more vital to saving Erilea than they could have imagined.

I’d give 6 stars if I could

I did not expect to love this book the way I did. Coming off of the previous book (I did not do the tandem read) I was kind of worried about the pace and was not a fan of Chaol but my attitude was quickly changed. The setting and characters were such a nice change of pace and the relationships formed in this book brought genuine tears to my eyes. I loved everything about this book and it was so nice to dive deeper on some new characters and past ones I wanted to know better! A perfect transition into the last novel loved so so much!!!

Great addition to the series

Maas does it again with a nail biting tale featuring Chaol & Neseryn in Antica. The story was exciting and an edge of your seat thrill ride from beginning to the very end. The characters are interesting and have depth. The story can be read as a standalone book but is definitely enjoyed more if read in the order of the series. Not a book for anyone under 16 due to intimte scenes. The narrator did a great job with providing unique voices for each character and appropriate tone inflections for each scene.
