Publisher Description
From Atlanta’s wealthiest suburbs to its stark inner-city housing projects, a killer has crossed the boundaries of wealth and race. And the people who are chasing him must cross those boundaries, too. Among them is Michael Ormewood, a veteran detective whose marriage is hanging by a thread–and whose arrogance and explosive temper are threatening his career. And Angie Polaski, a beautiful vice cop who was once Michael’s lover before she became his enemy. But unbeknownst to both of them, another player has entered the game: a loser ex-con who has stumbled upon the killer’s trail in the most coincidental of ways–and who may be the key to breaking the case wide open.
In this gritty, gripping firecracker of a novel, the author of the bestselling Grant County, Georgia, series breaks thrilling new ground, weaving together the threads of a complex, multilayered story with the skill of a master craftsman. Packed with body-bending switchbacks, searing psychological suspense and human emotions, Triptych ratchets up the tension one revelation at a time as it races to a shattering and unforgettable climax.
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
A chilling murder case links four deeply flawed people in this dark thriller from best-selling author Karin Slaughter. Atlanta detective Michael Ormewood is pursuing an inappropriate relationship with his teen neighbor. Georgia Bureau of Investigation officer Will Trent is hiding a devastating secret. Ambitious vice cop Angie Polaski has a turbulent history with both these men. And convicted rapist and murderer John Shelley has just emerged from a 20-year prison stint with an amazing credit score. Time melted away as we listened to this audiobook, marveling as Slaughter masterfully intertwines these four storylines into a suspenseful hunt for a serial killer. Narrator Michael Kramer’s authoritative grumble lends the story just the kind of hardboiled grit it deserves. You’ll love hearing the pieces of this demented puzzle click together.

A Good Listen
I liked the way this story and the characters were woven. The narrator does an excellent job with each character.
Seriously? Spoiler-ish
It’s entertaining but….Why does the Will Trent character get his own TV show? He didn’t figure out anything. Angie did. He just got the credit. He would’ve just railroaded an innocent guy without her!
Enjoyed
I enjoyed listening to this first book of the Will Trent series.
