Sid’s story
Sebastian York and Kit Swann did a fantastic job, they delivered the story exceptionally.
Obsidian aka Sid finally gets his HEA after being the one who did not think he deserved one. He has a dark past but so does Ari. Their first meeting was not ideal, and she is holding her past close to her chest. She is riddled with guilt for her reasons for being at Midnight Manor once things with her Sid change. I felt for her because as much as she wanted to help her family, she wanted to break free as well. It was a good story and as much as I am sorry to see this end, I am glad that all the Voss brothers found their HEA especially considering the past.

It’s been so much fun to read and listen to this series. I’m so sad to see it end as I’ve loved every minute of these 4 sexy books.
This is a dark delicious retelling loosely based on The Little Mermaid. Ariana needs a lot of cash and fast in order to get her family out of trouble. So, she becomes Obsidian Voss’ assistant, living at the manor and being forced to steal valuables from Midnight Manor. Obsidian (Sid) is an intense alpha with a tortured past he’s trying to forget about, and Ariana’s presence seems to be changing him for the better. This dark gothic-ish romance is packed with sexual attraction and a dash of suspense. We see Sid open up and fall for Ariana while she’s doing her best to hide her ever looming secret and it creates great tension. It’s great to see the other Voss brothers and their wives from books 1-3 make appearneces, which rounds out the entire series.
This is a duet style narration by Kit Swann and Sebastian York. York convincingly takes on Sid’s tormented character. His rich tone adds an intense element for this dark romance. Kit is so good as Ariana, bringing emotional depth to the character. She really embodies that mix of determination in Ariana’s character and her vulnerability as she is young and feels overwhelmed by Sid’s personality at times. Her male voice is super sexy and the sultry edge she had to Uma is perfect for a villainess.
