The “Mafia Wars” awesomeness continues with a and Maggie Cole does not disappoint one bit with the O’Malley family. The O’Malleys were introduced in the earlier books of this series, which featured the Ivanov family, when Nora O’Malley hooked up with one of the Ivanov’s, Boris, and wound up marrying him bonding the two families together, creating an alliance and strengthening their power and control in the mafia world. Unchosen Ruler is Liam and Hailee’s story and I have been looking forward to learning more about them since first meeting them. The chemistry between them was undeniable, but we only got glimpses into their lives, until now, and it was so worth the wait. This book is an interconnecting standalone and the first told in the O’Malley’s POV, the earlier books were told in the Ivanov POV. I highly recommend this series and enjoying them in the order they were written. There are some overlapping time lines in each book, each features different lead characters from their prospective family told in their POV. Ms. Cole has done an amazing job building her phenomenal mafia world and in this book she crowns a new King and that king chooses his Queen. Hailee grabbed Liam’s attention the moment they met, she was taken by him but was also reluctant about getting involved especially after finding out who he was and where he has been. This is a fantastic mafia romance, the plotting is brilliant with plenty of drama, family and relationship, heartfelt emotions, a touch of angst, action, thrilling suspense and some hot romance. Maggie Cole, thank you for another amazing novel and the wild and emotional rollercoaster ride, I loved every minute of it.

🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, Aaron Shedlock and Victoria Mei are the perfect cast to bring these characters to life. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that fit their character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable and just as I pictured the character to sound. Aaron Shedlock’s Liam was spot on. He grasped the complexity of his character, all his different sides. Victoria Mei did the same for Hailee. Both did an amazing job performing the secondary roles as well. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and projected them into their performance. These talented voice artists are entertaining storytellers and their narration enhances an already story to another level of awesomeness. Thank you for another fabulous listen.
