Pema Chodron is one of today's leading meditation teachers. With more than one million books sold to date, she draws sold out crowds across the U.S. and Canada. On
Unconditional Confidence, she offers two accessible sessions to help anyone find courage in times of challenge and change.
Pema doesn't disappoint
This recording is chalk full of useful guidance. It can be helpful even just to listen for a minute, picking a random part. Say you're on your way into a tough situation and you're feeling emotional, upset, angry. Give this a listen and your head will be in a better place. As for the interviewer, she is distracting, speaking in an affected manner with a breathy voice, although I'm sure she's a perfectly decent person.
Pema is great, again...but...
This was exacty what I needed the du I downloaded it; I was dealing with some work-related anxiety and it really really helped.
The second half Q & A was interesting, but the narrator/interviewer's voice was horrible (literally painful) to listen to. She seemed as though she was trying to impress Chodron.
That said, the talk by Pema is one I will return to.
Not really an audio book
This is not a recording of Pema reading one of her books. It's a less than 50 minute talk she gives on the subject -- so it's quite short. The rest of the CD is an interview. So, not what I was looking for.
