For both Zane and Darby, their small town roots hold a terrible secret. Now, decades later, they've come together to build a new life. But will the past set them free or pull them under? Find out in Under Currents from #1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts.
Zane Bigelow grew up in a beautiful, perfectly kept house in North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains. Strangers and even Zane’s own aunt across the lake see his parents as a successful surgeon and his stylish wife, making appearances at their children’s ballet recitals and baseball games. Only Zane and his sister know the truth, until one brutal night finally reveals cracks in the facade, and Zane escapes for college without a thought of looking back...
Years later, Zane returns to his hometown determined to reconnect with the place and people that mean so much to him, despite the painful memories. As he resumes life in the colorful town, he meets a gifted landscape artist named Darby, who is on the run from ghosts of her own.
Together they will have to teach each other what it means to face the past, and stand up for the ones they love.
A Macmillan Audio production from St. Martin's Press
This Narrator is so good, even a bad Audiobook would sound pleasant.
This, however, was a very good Audiobook.
The characters were real” and “likable”.
The plot was not complicated or sophisticated but mysterious enough, and the characters made up for the simplicity of the plot. I feared for them throughout the Audiobook.
I actually hated for the book to end.
I feel like I want to check in with Darby and Zane in 6 months or so - to see how they are doing.
This is one to buy. Pandora53
This book has all the ingredients. Mostly heart and soul mixed with a little bit of suspense, add some mystery and a huge dollop of comedy. I fell in love with the characters. I wanted to crawl through the book and beat up the bad guys. I laughed. I cried . I want more sequels!!!
My job allows me to listen to audiobooks so I go through about 15 to 20 books in a month and I know a good book by the end of the first chapter and this one had all the earmarks . I usually rent the books from the library (hello!- 15-20 books a month diet) but if it’s a keeper I buy it and add it to my little collection of “Love Reads”
Undercurrents is my newest addition. I highly recommend that you listen to this book because the narrator is THAT good. When it comes to audiobooks, the narrator is almost as important as the author. I love them BOTH...Keep cranking out those stories ❤️
