Publisher Description
The Vedanta Philosophy, as expounded by Swami Abhedananda, is based on the Upanishads, which are a collection of ancient Indian texts. The central tenet of the Vedanta Philosophy is that there is an ultimate reality, which is Brahman, and that everything in the universe is a manifestation of Brahman. Read in English, unabridged.

They undermine their own arguments
Their poorly compiled argument against heredity only bolstered the case for heredity! Genetic research has demonstrated that instincts (for example, the fear of a specific stimulus) are passed down several generations; starvation in a past generation predicts obesity in the next generation. DNA absolutely carries hereditery memory. What do they think animal instinct is? Instinct is genetic memory passed down to offspring. Humans are (pre)loaded with instincts, whether we like to admit it or not. Initially, I decided to overlook some other flaws in the logic and anecdotal evidence used in this book. I still find the topic fascinating and there are numerous treasures of wisdom. But this attempt at covering every aspect of life under one philosophic umbrella is greedy, weak, and not sufficiently convincing for me to be able to accept it as a whole.
