Narrator's Voice is Distracting

We love this story, but we found that the narrator's voice -- especially when she does the boy main character -- is rather irritating.

Excellent for Road Trips

This kept the kids quiet and well behaved in our car. The story is a classic and the kids love it! Before The Veleveteen Rabbit, they would always ask "are we home, yet?" Now they don't want to get home so fast because they want to finish listening to the story.

kind of makes me want to poke my ears with a sharp object

the narration part of this audiobook is good, and the music is sweet. but the staging part of it (which you don't get to hear in the audio sample) is cloying and distracting. i just want to hear the story as written, not with little bits of business in the background. and i'm sorry, but the little boy sounds like a character from mad tv. don't waste your money on this version.
