Bad pronounciation

I am Chinese, and I have to say, based on what I heard in the preview, the Chinese teacher in this audiobook has a very bad accent, different from any common Madarin dialects, Beijing, Shanghai, Taipei or Hongkong. I cannot imagine people learning from this program will develop an understandable Chinese accent.

rip-off

I feel apple should reimburse for the purchase of this book. I am studying Chinese in China and I bought this so that I would have something that would lessen my propensity to loose my chinese when I travel outside the country. However, before trying it myself I had my chinese teacher (a chinese person and a native speaker) listen to it. She just started laughing. She said she couldnt understand anthing that was said. I am quite curious to know where they got the vocabulary and the person who pronounces it for for this book. Don't buy, it might make your chinese worse than it already is

Don't Learn from This Book

As an American who has lived in China and been a student of Chinese language and culture for close to two decades, I would strongly agree with the two previous Chinese reviewers. The pronunciation of the "Chinese Speaker" is not only non-standard, but often wrong. I find it hard to believe that the speaker's mother tongue is mandarin Chinese.
