Nice job

Having only seen the movie, (both versions), I wasn't sure what to expect. The actors did a great job of bringing this classic to life. The secial sound effects really added to the overall thrill of the audio book. I recommend this title to those who want to escape for a few hours from everyday life. It was a fun listen.

What's your problem?

Who really cares if they speak with british accents or not? I like it because, unlike the original, you don't have to turn the volume up as high as it can go just to hear it, or deal with that funny buzzing sound. It's a good dramatization and I recomend it.

Save Your Money

Mis-placed English accents are just the tip of the iceberg. And let's call them what they really are: *BAD* imitations of English accents. Add to that bad acting bad post production (sometimes the ruckus of the crowd overwhelms the dialog) and really cheezy sound effects.

To their credit, they stayed true to Welles' original script. Sort of a paint-by-number watercolor copy of a Rembrant. I'll take the original Mercury theater version, buzzes, skips and clicks, over this any day.

Dang. I *REALLY* wanted to like this.
