The book could barely do worse.
The alternate histories had some high points, but there were too many low points. "Looking for the Fountain" seemed like it would be the worst until I reached the story from which the book took its name. The JFK and Ike stories were really good. The "Arrival of Truth" was pretty good too, though left me wanting a view of the bigger picture- what did it really change in history.
The Teddy Roosevelt story was really good with an ending that I saw coming, but it could have easily gone a less realistic way and been just as good. My favorite was probably "Goddard's People." It was probably the most fun to read (hear).
Next time I will probably just stick to Turtledove or another really good alt-hist author.
