Jada left home at the age of sixteen, running from her own demons and the horrors of physical abuse inflicted by her mother's boyfriend. She partied hard, and life seemed good when she was with Born, the neighborhood kingpin whose name was synonymous with money, power, and respect. But all his love couldn't save her from a crack addiction. Jada goes from crack addict and prostitute to survivor and back again before she finds the strength to live for herself and come out on top. And her stormy romance with one of the fiercest hustlers on the streets makes White Lines one of the most unforgettable urban loves stories of the year.

My favorite book!
Honestly this is my favorite book and has been since highschool.
Excellent Story Telling
Wonderful wonderful wonderful book. Tracy just GETS IT! Everyone’s character and stories were so well developed. I loved the way they were all intertwined. I love how it was truthful and hopeful but also gutter and real.
But this narrator . I’ve heard her narrate other books and she did a great job. But she does not seem to be in touch with urban culture AT ALL. The part that was most unbelievable was how she narrated the voices of the male characters who were written to be hood, classy, and sexy with New York swag. I heard none of that. Overall every character sounded a bit southern but I was really disappointed with how she did the men. They ALL sounded like old country uncles. Like it was cool for creepy old Mr. Charlie. But not for my fine sexy Borne or Dorian…. OK back to the good stuff. I’m going to tell every single one of my fellow book lovers to read the actual book because the story could not have been better. Great job.
