Publisher Description
Award-winning actress Drew Barrymore shares funny, insightful, and profound stories from her past and present told from the place of happiness she's achieved today.
Wildflower is a portrait of Drew's life in stories as she looks back on the adventures, challenges, and incredible experiences of her earlier years. It includes tales of living on her own at 14 (and how laundry may have saved her life), getting stuck in a gas station overhang on a cross country road trip, saying goodbye to her father in a way only he could have understood, and many more adventures and lessons that have led her to the successful, happy, and healthy place she is today. It is the first book Drew has written about her life since the age of 14.
Customer Reviews
Couldn’t stop listening.
Drew is such an amazing free spirit and I love listening to her. She is an amazing writer. The way she tells her stories is like listening to a friend. I could literally listen to her talk all day. This was great! Xoxo
Fun book for slow mornings…
I think maybe if you have a super active and exciting life you might find this book boring. Each chapter is basically about one story or one subject so it could feel slow. But personally, it felt perfect for a super quiet and alone morning while I ate breakfast or went for a walk. It’s a “pretty” type of book. Also there’s a lot of cursing and shrieking. But if you love Drew Barrymore, you will love the book because you will easily picture what she’s talking about and imagine her speaking. It did feel a little actor perspective, not very relatable but that’s ok. Still a fun read with interesting stories.
Colorful stories and screaming fits
I enjoyed the stories shared by Barrymore. Her quirky spirt definitely shines through. What I found deeply bothersome was the shrieking and steaming every other story as she narrates. Just a bit too much, OVER the top. I can appreciate the commitment I suppose. Be prepared to turn your volume down.
