Gammon is under immense pressure in his latest quest to find a horrendous serial killer stalking the Peak District. The killings are mounting up, and the pressure that goes with his DCI position with Bixton Police is beginning to tell. 

John Gammon has always led a complicated private life, but while he tries very hard to keep his life on track, it seems like mission impossible as he lurches from one disaster to the next. 

Time is running out for Gammon, with Bixton under the threat of closure and tourism figures down because of the serial killer questions now being asked. Can Gammon and his team solve this with some speed, or will the axe fall?
