Publisher Description
First published three years ago before the print edition of
Women Who Run with the Wolves made publishing history, this original audio edition quickly became an underground best seller. For it's insights into the inner lives of women, it established Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes as one of the most important voices of our time in the fields of Jungian psychology, myth, and women's mysteries.
Drawing from her work as a psychoanalyst and cantadora (keeper of old stories), Dr. Estes uses myths and folktales to illustrate how societies systematically strip away the feminine spirit. Through an exploration into the nature of the wild woman archetype, Dr. Estes helps listeners rediscover and free their own wild nature.

Short but sweet
Please note this is a short version of the book or the price.
Good, but not the book
This audio book is lovely, and it's always a treat to hear Clarissa Pinkola Estes speak. But don't be fooled, like I was, by the "Unabridged" label that would lead you to believe this is a reading of her book of the same title. It's not. It's more like a summary, a lecture, and while great in itself, is still a bit of a misrepresentation. So, 5 stars for Pinkola Estes, but 1 star for misrepresentation.
BUYER BEWARE: NOT THE BOOK!!!
This is a lecture/excerpt! A very very expensive lecture. Don't be fooled like I was!!!!!!
