I’m a noodle
I picked up this book at the behest of a writing instructor. I was reluctant. Early in Writing Down the Bones, I’d ask myself why am I listening to this? Zen and writing? writing practice? What is this nonsense? However, it started with Natalie’s voice. A connection to my Jewish roots. Then a connection to my Zen practice 25 years ago. Before long, I had to listen everyday. This book cracked me open like an egg and it hit me, quite unexpectedly, that I felt inspired to write; more importantly, I have a blueprint to practice writing. I am not a high energy motivation bull, but more of a noodle. I am a noodle, and Natalie revealed what that means and how to work with it. Thank you.
