Writing To Be Understood is the thinking writer's guide to effective nonfiction writing techniques, such as:
- Using analogies to illustrate unseen concepts

- Balancing humility with credibility
For each topic, the book combines insights from cognitive science with advice from writers and expert practitioners in fields of psychology, technology, economics, medicine, policy, and more.
Whether you're an expert trying to communicate with a mainstream audience or a nonfiction writer hoping to reach more people, Writing to be Understood will help you expand the impact of your words.

A Must For Experienced Writers to Wannabes
Anne has done it again. I found myself listening to this book again contemplating a large project. Regardless of your experience, you will find a ton of useful things to do in your writting efforts. Yes, real things to do, not to think about or mull over, but concrete ideas that can be implemented. If you have never written anything this will provide a comfortable framework for your achievement to be. My only suggestion to you is to make sure you have a pen and paper when listening to take notes or by a print copy to use as a tutorial that you can mark up. Certainly a first class job. And as Anne suggests, a call to action: get this book.
