Publisher Description

This lyrical, evocative, thought-provoking journal of a man's quest for truth -- and for himself -- has touched and changed an entire generation.

At its heart, the story is all too simple: a man and his son take a lengthy motorcycle trip through America. But this is not a simple trip at all, for around every corner, through mountain and desert, wind and rain, and searing heat and biting cold, their pilgrimage leads them to new vistas of self-discovery and renewal.

Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance is an elemental work that had helped to shape and define the past twenty-five years of American culture. This special audio edition presents this adventure in an exciting new way -- for the millions who have already taken this journey and want to travel these roads again, and for the many more who will discover for the first time the wonders and challenges of a journey that will change the way they think and feel about their lives.

Great Book BAD iTunes Preview

I read this book years ago and LOVED LOVED LOVED it. It is so full of insight on life through our day to day activities. I was so looking forward to finally getting this book in an unabridged audio format; iTunes, however, has the worst editing process for previews. How many times have I attempted to preview audiobooks only to find intro material that has nothing to do with the crux of the literary work and is read by someone other than the book's narrator? The narrator can make or break even the best work when it comes to the audio presentation. Come on iTunes! If you want us to shell out the $$$ give us a decent preview from the actual manuscript read by the story narrator! I can't imagine buying a 15 hour audiobook without first knowing if I can tolerate the narration.

ZEN with very poor audio.

This book was highly recommended to me. I am enjoying the books content so far, but the audio quality is horrible and very hard to listen to. This is an expensive iTunes price for such poor audio.
