1 Timothy - What Is The Church‪?‬

1 Timothy is a letter from Paul to Timothy. He was a young pastor left in charge of the mega-church in the ancient city of Ephesus. It was a job fraught with difficulty for a young man in his 30’s. In this letter Paul provides guidance for all young pastors seeking to weather storms in the church. Paul warns about the dangers of false teaching. He teaches about the role of women in the church. He frames the role leaders and the job of pastors. He warns against the dangers of asceticism while he teaches us how to invest for the future and still enjoy God’s good gifts.
