Parallels

Young Daniel is stricken with trauma by the tumultuous relationship between his parents and their contaminated marriage.  The troubled boy develops severe anxiety and suffers from seizures, having to be placed on medication at the age of eight.  The story quickly turns to Penelope, a young girl who is molested at a very young age by her troubled school teacher and soon after witnesses the death of her brother.  Parallels follows two characters as they venture along their separate lives, which are riddled with continuous confusion and suffering until they finally meet and find that together they are able to conquer the relentless nature of life.  And just when you think they have finally found serenity, they are faced with the most terrible of events, which proposes a final choice between everlasting love and the destruction of all that is sacred.
