This series hits different
It’s traumatic, and it’s real, and it hurts to read and I love it.
Realistic and thoughtful
It can be difficult to illustrate the struggles of depression, trauma, and stress in a way that is accurate to reality. Caring for someone with these stressors is no easy task, and it can be easy to assume that the person you’re caring for is just being selfish if they don’t get better or continue self destructive habits. This story hits close to home, and has made me re-evaluate the way that I’ve treated people before in my life. Absolutely phenomenal, will be buying every volume as they come out to support work like this.
Realistic
So realistic it’s uncomfortable, it can illicit strong emotions in me when she spirals or panics and at times that makes it a hard read, but a worthwhile one definitely.
