Publisher Description
Noted for being one of the fastest growing and most successful airshows in the country, the California Capital Airshow continues to impress after only its sixth year.
Following a stellar lineup in 2010, showcasing the largest gathering of P-38's since WWII, the 2011 California Capital Airshow had big shoes to fill. Despite not having a jet team, the show did not disappoint.
Celebrating the Centennial of Naval Aviation, tailhooks were abundant with the mighty West Coast F-18F Super Hornet demonstration and the nostalgic Legacy Flight. Seventy years after the attack on Pearl Harbor, the famed Tora, Tora, Tora reenactment filled the skies with smoke and metal. And lest we not forget a day that scarred the United States in the same way and brought out the best in America by remembering those fateful moments of September 11th, ten years later. Petals of Remembrance strewn from the back of USCG C-130 Hercules showered the field in honor of those who lost their lives. A truly monumental fete that brought tears to the eyes of every spectator.
On behalf of the California Capital Airshow, we hope you enjoy revisiting the excitement and nostalgia of one of the greatest aviation events in the United States.
