The world had died. Going out with a bang, followed by a whimper.

Yet that wasn't the end of human life. As resilient as a weed, society ultimately returned, inch by inch, from the tragedies of the past. Things were far different in this new world despite how humans continued to be the same beings that wrought their own ends.

Max Ferguson is a man living in this new world, doing his best to survive. When a boar hunt goes wrong with his friends, he's forced to return empty-handed to his wife and child, all the while commenting on the current state of the world. With a gift from his Grandfather renewed, the love of his life, and his daughter warmly receiving him, things start to look brighter for him despite the failure he suffered.

However, in the middle of the night, while he slept, assassins were sent to capture him, but they ended up running off with his family. Now, Max has to gather his courage, wits, and his Grandfather's gift to come face to face with a legacy he had forgotten and left behind and save his family. How far would he be willing to go? How rough will the travel be through this hostile world?
