Publisher Description
In this thrilling novel from a #1 New York Times bestselling author, Detective Lindsay Boxer takes a vow to protect a young woman from a serial killer long enough to see her twenty-first birthday.
When young wife and mother Tara Burke goes missing with her baby girl, all eyes are on her husband, Lucas. He paints her not as a missing person but a wayward wife—until a gruesome piece of evidence turns the investigation criminal.
While Chronicle reporter Cindy Thomas pursues the story and M.E. Claire Washburn harbors theories that run counter to the SFPD’s, ADA Yuki Castellano sizes Lucas up as a textbook domestic offender . . . who suddenly puts forward an unexpected suspect. If what Lucas tells law enforcement has even a grain of truth, there isn't a woman in the state of California who's safe from the reach of an unspeakable threat.
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Occam’s razor cuts deeply in James Patterson and Maxine Paetro’s riveting thriller, part of the long-running Women's Murder Club series. In this installment, a young woman named Tara Burke disappears, and all eyes are on her husband—but the missing person’s case becomes a homicide investigation when the body of the couple’s baby girl washes up onshore. As the body count grows, police sergeant Lindsay Boxer, journalist Cindy Thomas, and attorney Yuki Castellano get drawn into the mystery. Patterson and Paetro keep the action rushing forward as the three brilliant women on the case start to question their assumptions. The result is one of the most satisfying conclusions to a domestic thriller that we’ve read in ages.
Customer Reviews
Definitely Top Tier Fiction
I absolutely love this series. I absolutely hate all the endings. They just drop off and don’t go anywhere
Binge worthy
As another book from my favorite author I find this book to start out slightly slow then intermediately picks up and gets super good and hard to put down.
Great
5 Stars. As good as anything from Patterson and I’ve read over 100 of his books. This was The Women’s Murder Club at its finest. One of their best mysteries ever. Throughout the book I THOUGHT I knew who done it but it turns out I never did until the final pages. Outstanding! Bring on the next!
