Entertaining friends-to-lovers second chance romance!
28 Dates by Stacey Lynn was an enjoyable read about finding the “right” one. Caitlin Pappas does not want a relationship. They are not for her. When her longtime friends-with-benefits wants more, they end things. Months later she is going to beta test a new app at work about finding the one in 28 dates.
Jonas Reeves fell for Caitlin, but when he wanted to take it to the next level, she did not, even if he did mean something to her. Now she is dating off the app and Jonas sees his opportunity to win her back. There is some back and forth as Caitlin is not ready to let Jonas in, but he is not giving up. 28 Dates by Stacey Lynn was an entertaining friends-to-lovers second chance romance
Love all your books! Can’t wait for the next!!
I was excited to read Caitlin and Jonas' story after meeting them in the first book in this series but I'm not sure this book lived up to my expectations.
Caitlin is a commitment-phobe. She's the one ends things when Jonas says that he wants more. This is where things started to get disappointing for me. She, who admittedly dates around and has no shame about this (as she shouldn't), doesn't pursue anyone else during the six months between her ending things with Jonas and starting to use the app. But Jonas, who was so in love with her that he couldn't keep going in this arrangement, was already dating someone else before things even ended and stayed with that woman for the entire six months they were apart. Disappointment amplified.
These characters are connected to the ones in the first book in this series but there still seems to be zero overlap with the characters from book 2. I'm so confused about how that book fits in this series. I usually love books by this author. This one was ok but just missed the mark for me.
