Publisher Description
A War Without CasualtiesThe Republic of San Magnolia has long been under attack from the neighboring Giadian Empire's army of unmanned drones known as the Legion. After years of painstaking research, the Republic finally developed autonomous drones of their own, turning the one-sided struggle into a war without casualties-or at least, that's what the government claims. In truth, there is no such thing as a bloodless war. Customer Reviews
Prepare your tear ducts.
Words alone can’t do this series justice. I picked the first book up on a whim, but it quickly became my favorite series of all time. The first book alone is what I would consider a masterpiece, and if it ended there, I would be more than satisfied. Fortunately, there’s more.
Unfortunately, the next 2 novels aren’t as good as the first, as they almost act as recap novels. But after you get through those, the series quickly picks up again, and it maintains a consistent level of (extremely high) quality.
Do be warned though, this series is heavy. I’ve never read or watched another piece of media that has conveyed the same sense of peril regarding the fate of the world. You constantly feel like the characters are in mortal danger, and that humanity is walking a tightrope above extinction. I had to take frequent breaks while reading in order to finish the series.
It is a powerful exploration of emotional trauma, social status, racism, and what it means to be human. I would give it 6 stars if I could.
A Perfect Read
The ability to merge the current story while including the prequel story was flawless.
Thank you for the story
